Akhil
Hey everyone. First and foremost, I love you very much. After that, my name is Akhil and I’m from Wisconsin, the cultural Mecca of the world. Today I live in Boston… the cultural Mecca of nothing.
Seriously though, I’m about to graduate with a degree in Communications (Film) from Boston University. I’ve been part of the music scene here for just about my entire college career and also play in a number of bands and projects, you can check that out at www.reverbnation.com/akhilbhatt . I’ll be needing a job kinda soon… so, you know… hook me up!
I used to be part of a blog called Just Pretend and it was rewarding beyond comprehension. Spreading music is something I’m damn serious about and can’t wait to share our experiences in music with you. The most important part of what we get to do in this lifetime is not gauged by our successes. Take your happiness from your honest connections. Although it is really informal, being able to connect with you all is a huge deal.
These days I dig:
-The Flaming Lips, Wilco, Rogue Wave, Fleet Foxes, Cadence Weapon, Scofield, Brian Eno

Dave Nyman
My name is also David, and that can make things either more complicated or easier. All you really need to know about me is that I really enjoy music. Listening, writing, and playing music are my main pastimes (sometimes I do other things like writing for this blog!). I’m in a band called the Abandoned Hospital Ship, and you should check out our MySpace until we get a real website. http://www.myspace.com/theabandonedhospitalship
I’m currently going to Hampshire College majoring in music and eventually I’d like to score movies, TV, video games, etc.

Nick
Don’t ask me why I obsessively look to rock n’ roll bands for some kind of model for a better society. I guess it’s just that I glimpsed something beautiful in a flashbulb moment once, and perhaps mistaking it for prophecy have been seeking it’s fulfillment ever since. And perhaps that nothing else in the world ever seemed to hold even this much promise” – Lester Bangs 1977
It might be a bit cliched to quote Lester Bangs, but that’s a pretty apt summation of why I write (read: obsess) over music. And sometimes I get really frustrated when I want to tell my roommates about a really awesome band, and they return my enthusiasm with blank stares. More disheartening than annoying. But now I can tell everyone everything I’m feeling about something at any given time! Oh the excitement!
I go to school at Boston University with Akhil, and I’m a journalism major. I also write for Performer Magazine and play in the band You Can Be A Wesley.

Alie
Hello hello. My name’s Alie. I’m twenty years old and in my second year of university as a Film major, English minor. I’m also Canadian, which means that snowshoes are my primary means of transportation and that I wrestle polar bears bi-weekly. But when I’m not snowshoeing through the mean streets of Ottawa or spelling colour with a u, you’ll likely find me awake at an unreasonably late hour in the lamp-lit gloriousness of my bedroom, scouring the internet for my new favourite band, listening to music, or strumming away on Molly, my beloved guitar. (Check out my MySpace to see what kind of musical hijinks Molly and I have gotten ourselves into.)
I also have a particular fondness for the following: book reading! Story writing! Film watching! Unprovoked dancing! Philip Seymour Hoffman! Philip Seymour Hoffman’s voice! Tea drinking! Hugs! References, particularly those of an Arrested Development nature! Photography! Puns and wordplay in general!!!
But if you’ll excuse me, that polar bear over there is giving me the stink eye and I think I need to show him who’s boss.
